Black bars in fullscreen 1920x1080

I got huge black bars to the top and bottom in all resolutions :/

That is very annoying and it makes game look weird and unplayable because drawing doesn't match with mouse movement

I have tried everything, also searching manual resolution setup and googled this issue many times and i just can't get this game to fullscreen without those bars.

Is this game made in wider ratios than 16x9??

We really need resolution settings!

I got XFX HD5870

and LG 24" 16/9 fullHD screen

Hi, Sorry you are having problems!

The game is written to run at 1280x720 resolution (16x9) normally so if you have a widescreen monitor you should not be seeing any black bars... so something seems to be a bit odd! Can you take a screenshot of the game running on your machine for us to look at? If you could send it through to that would help us figure out what the problem is...

Also if you could let us know a few other things:

- what version of windows do you have?
- what is your windows desktop resolution set to?
- do you have a second monitor?

: I don't know if you've seen that option already, but until we get the full screen problems resolved, you can also play the game in window mode. Just supply "-window" (without the quotes) as a startup option for the game.

I am systembuilder and this machine is little bit weird

so my system specs are:

Crosshair IV Extreme motherboard

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Processor

3x HD5870 in crossfireX mode to LG display

and

1x Nvidia 240GT for PhysX applications (no display attached)

So this is so called hydrid pc...

I have tested also crossfireX on and off and also with 2 cards in crossfire mode and same problem stays

Really weird thing is that when i take screenshot it wont include those black bars so i need to take picture with camera

I think game Force my resolution to some else than my desktop (1920x1080) and my screen is the one that is forced to make those black bars.?.

this game works fine on my laptop and in fullscreen (ASUS G51J)

Also thanks for the picture - ideally, a screen capture rather than a picture would be better (so we can examine the resolution and size of the borders etc) - you should be able to capture one using alt+prntscrn when the game is running and then cntrl-v (paste) the clipboard into paint.net or something similar - will that be ok?

Because some weird bug HD5000+ series cards shows windows method printscreen just black screen same broplem from catalyst driver 10.8->

but fraps works and in notice i have tested to uninstall fraps and no help :/ (got fraps on my laptop and no problems)

So here is screenshot taken with fraps and converted to jpeg with paint (this is from pc with black bars)

That last image resolution may have been changed by paint so there is couple new screenshots straight from fraps

No. Only the option to run in a window, instead of full screen (see above).

The screenshots that you included show, that the game is running 720p (1280x720), just like it is supposed to, when running on a 16:9 monitor.
Or in other words: The game detects that your system has a 16:9 monitor, and it also detects that your graphics cards supports 720p, so it sets the full screen resolution to 720p. Exactly as it's supposed to work.

But for some reason, your monitor squishes 720p together so that there are unnecessary black bars at the top and bottom. Isn't it possible for you to adjust this squishing on the monitor directly, via the monitor's built in menu?

Did the -window option from steam help at all?
